SHOPPING WITH MOMMY

I got hold of an old issue of Oprah Magazine and there was a feature fashion article on mother-daughter shopping. The article by Robyn Cooke had shopping guidelines for both mothers and daughters. To summerise them
           * Set a budget
              *Enjoy the experience
                 *Talk smart
                    * Do your homework
                      *Set time aside
                        *Argue intelligently
Well if you read the article you will understand beacuse the pointers are too formal and boring for a fashionista. Reading the article got me thinking if we even want our mothers to come shopping with us. I don't. Main reason  being , my mom will be preaching to me about how decent and normal i'll look on that skirt. How good and innocent the girl next door look on that dress. How flumpy or indecent women who were super skinny skinny jeans look. How revealing the lace top I want is. How too short the pink summer dress I'm craving for is. How weird the net pumps are .
    These are just all the unnessecary, appetite-finishing statements my mom would make that I dont even want to hear. Well, at least not in front of everybody.
 Maybe your mom is better and a little fashion forward. My mom is not. She's that knid of a mother who will buy you expensive, ugly, leather shoes just because they will last you 10 dull years. My  mom dress up only because its politicaly correct to dress up.So shopping with my mom is not even on my wish list.
