Lindiwe  Suttle has to be one of those artists who have no fashion borders. She goes an extra mile to express her style. Her style is artistic and pure.  I love her Cleo Droomer peplum.

Style Crush

When I first met Tshego Dontache it was last year around March. She was then a first year journalism student. I think I was fascinated by her style the moment I saw her. If I remember correctly she was rocking black leggings and a cropped T.

 At that time I was enjoying the monopoly of being the trend setter in the department of journalism. So when Tshego came I said to myself, well I’m old now; it’s time to shift and let her take over. But because fashion and style run in my veins, I couldn’t.

Then again, knowing me I didn’t want to compete with her because I felt we were of the same breed. We both loved fashion and we both conveyed that love through style.

Over the year I remained the trendsetter in the senior department and she remained and still is the trendsetter in the junior department.

I remember when we were preparing for The TUT Department of Journalism Student Choice Awards 2012, and people were saying Tshego is one first year who should take over when I’m gone. People saw her as a threat to me but I saw her as a source of inspiration. Because I tell you, many times people, and I mean normal people who surrounds us everyday really do contribute to the way we dress. It’s just that our egos won’t allow us to acknowledge that.

Dros Anyone?

Last week Friday, I and colleagues, including my boss went to Dros Resturant in Hatfield. I’m big on beautiful food even though I am not a big eater. I had a steak which was totally well done, the way I like it. I like my steak well done honey. So I thought I should share pics……. I am frantically and unfairly inlove with chinos. Yes those men pants that come in all colours. I went to Mr Price the other day to buy one for my little brother , because I didn’t know his size, the guy at the shop told me to fit them. He said if I fit them and they fit well , they will surely fit my brother. I Did that. And, they looked good on me. So I had to do what a girl has to do. I took them. Not for my brother but for me. Yes, and I’m planning on getting 5 in different colours. Don’t judge.

Rihanna for MAC and River Island

Rihanna’s life at this time is on its topmost. The girl has 7 albums in 7 years. She is only 25 years old. Her 777 tour was a great success. She just launched a clothing line for River Island which I personally like. On that one, other critics think there’s too much nudity and a normal girl wouldn’t wear that.

Well I think they need to learn something or two about style. Rihanna and River Island presented fashion to us. As individuals, we need to find our own style in it. Obviously you can’t wear that net skirt everywhere; rather you can wear it to the beach just like Riri did. The jumpsuits wear great for.

They need no fashion explanation. The florals wear trendy. What I didn’t like was the floral skinny pants, I just felt like they have been done before.  Rihanna is a fashion idol to millions, and her line will be a huge success. This girl is on fire.  On top of that she has joined hands with MAC. That is big. I say you go Riri and I’ll be buying one of those jumpsuits online soon.
